We have a great team of experienced financial advisers and administrators, and we’re here to help you.
In brief, we are a small team of friends, working
together from our office in Bude, Cornwall. Our
goal is to educate and help people understand, and
take advantage of the vast opportunity that comes
with mortgages.
We have created our
business and values based on personal experience
and feedback from clients over the years. When I
took my first mortgage out, it was very simple and
straight forward. We got our offer fast and moved
in within 5 weeks. So, all in all, it was a great
experience. Only when I progressed my career into
mortgages myself, did I realise how much I, as a
mortgage customer, did not know or understand.

I’ve worked in the financial services industry for most of my working life. I joined MAB South West in 2017, which helped me start up and build Jack Gear Financial within the MAB network. We’ve grown from 1 to 10 in the team over the last couple of years and love the fact we’re able to help so many people every year, and not only in the local area but all over the UK too.

Between 2010 and 2013 I was a professional freestyle mountain bike rider.

I started working as a Mortgage and Protection Adviser for Jack Gear Financial in August 2020, after an 8 ½ year career working within the banking industry. I have always enjoyed helping clients to achieve their financial goals and strive on providing excellent customer service. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, taking trips to the beach and baking.

I was very keen on playing music growing up so I wanted to be a music therapist!

I joined Jack Gear Financial in 2021 as a receptionist and administrator and became a qualified adviser in March 2022. I love the challenges and the learning opportunities that this job brings every day, but most of all I love helping my clients achieve their goals, whether its buying their first home, their forever home, or anything in between.

I played professional golf prior to joining the team and I continue to play now, but just for fun (and to beat Jack and Barry!)

Having spent over 20 years as a maths teacher and chief examiner for a leading awarding body, when the opportunity arose to enter the financial sector as an equity release adviser I jumped at the chance to further develop my skills in supporting people through the potential maze of later life lending. Working within the team, I can help people in every stage of their property journey and seeing the difference equity release can make to peoples’ life is truly uplifting.
Fun fact
I help my wife run a wildlife rescue and I also enjoy wild camping in my spare time.

When I was 11 I got a post office as a Christmas present and dreamed of working in one. Years later, I ended up owning one!

I've always enjoyed working with people, which is why my career has included roles in bar management, a funeral directors, and even two ski seasons. Each experience has helped me build strong customer service skills and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life. I joined Jack Gear Financial in 2024 and enjoy supporting clients while continuing to grow my career in the industry.

As well as being a keen skier, I played football for the Plymouth Argyle youth teams and am still an avid supporter of Argyle.

I was ready for a fresh challenge and I was excited to start a new career in a field that really interests me. I enjoy expanding my knowledge, and I'm always keen to develop and grow. One of the things I enjoy most about this job is trying to help people wherever I can. I also like to bring a bit of fun to the team and keep everyone on their toes with a laugh whenever possible.

I was once in a take a break magazine when I was born because I was the 5th living generation of my family tree. Meaning I had 3 great great grandmothers all alive at the same time.

Throughout my career, I’ve enjoyed building strong relationships with people and helping them feel supported and at ease. This job has enabled me to bring those qualities with me to this new career, and I am looking forward to what the future brings.

I worked with Jacks mum whilst I was a veterinary nurse, and it turns out she’s more fond of me than she is of him.

I'm a Pensions and Investments Adviser working in the Jack Gear Financial office under our partner company North Coast Wealth. My goal is to build long-term relationships based on trust, transparency, and results. I have worked in financial services for over 10 years in various different roles. When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my wife and my 2 young children. I also love keeping fit and spending time outside.

I recently ran Chicago Marathon in 2 hours 56 minutes in October 2025 and want to break the 16 minute 5k barrier in 2026.

I spent over 13 years working in the Film and TV industry, mainly across production and client services. That background gave me experience working on complex projects, dealing with tight deadlines and managing constantly changing schedules. After making a career change into mortgages and protection, I now work with Jack Gear Financial and have a particular interest in supporting clients with less straightforward income, including self-employed people, freelancers, contractors, company directors and Film and TV professionals. Having worked in the industry myself, I understand how project-based work, variable income and changing contracts can look, and how useful it can be to approach the mortgage process with the right preparation.
Fun fact
Before moving into financial services, I worked on a number of major productions including Star Wars, the Fast & Furious franchise, House of the Dragon, James Bond and a few Marvel projects.
